Station 2
Station 2 is located in the heart of Rutland, the city part. It's the headquarters for the Rutland Fire Department. It's home to a bustling town square and multiple businesses, including a Wal-Mart, Dollar General, and a Target. This station sees the most calls and runs the only ambulance for Rutland. Most of Station 1's jurisdiction involved multi-functional housing, apartments, housing, and businesses. Station 2 houses Engine 5, Rescue 2, Medic 2, Tac 1, Brush 59, Marine 6, Car 1, Car 2, Car 3, and Car 5.
Engine 5
Engine 5 is a 2021 KME Predator custom pumper. It has a Hale 1500 GPM pump. It has a 750 gallon poly water tank and a 50 gallon foam cell. This truck was recently bought, replacing an older 2015 Rosenbauer. Firefighters weren't liking the layout of the older engine, so they went with a KME. Engine 5 is the only engine out of Station 2 and sees a lot of action. It responds to medical, MVAs, box alarms, and other calls. |
Rescue 2
Rescue 2 is a 2021 Seagrave Attacker Single Axle Walk-Around Heavy Rescue. It carries all rescue equipment, along with TRT equipment, which allows it to assist the Rutland Special Operations Task Force. Rescue 2 also carries water rescue gear, along with ALS medical gear. The truck is first out for all rescue calls and multi - vehicle MVAs. |

Medic 2
Medic 2 is a 2010 Wheeled Coach Ford F-350 Ambulance. This ambulance is first out for all medical calls and usually runs with the engine crew to MVA calls. It is ALS certified. It is the only ambulance that runs for Rutland and is expected to be replaced soon by a newer Ford. This ambulance does not transport, as Rutland contracts a private ambulance company to run medical calls for them. Rutland runs the ambulance solely to assist when first on scene. |
Tac 1
Tac 1 is a 2021 Ford F-350 E-One Mini Rescue Pumper. It has a mid ship pump with a 1250 GPM pump. It has a 300 gallon poly water tank with a small 20 gallon foam cell. Tac 1 was bought to assist with increased rescue calls. Rutland went with a mini pumper to assist with car fires and small fires during rescue calls. It carries all the water rescue gear, towing Marine 6 to water related emergency calls. It also assists the engine company with small car fires. |
Brush 59
Brush 59 is a 2009 Ford F-350 Skeeter Rescue-Side Type 6. Brush 59 responds to all brush calls within Rutland. It's equipped with a Harley 2 BE23V with a 300 GPM pump. It has a 300 gallon water tank with a small 10 gallon foam cell. It has a front push bar to protect against brush and also carries light rescue gear to assist with trail and wood rescues. |
Marine 6
Marine 6 is a Zodiac rigid inflatable boat w/ an American Eagle trailer. Marine 6 is the primary boat for Rutland, It responds to all water - related calls with Tac 1. It has a 150 HP Outboard engine. It has a front spotlight and two small compartments on the sides of the hull to carry light equipment. |
Staff Units
The staff units are operated by the staff, mainly the fire chief, assistant chief, battalion chief, and the PIO.
